Santorini Experience fills three days on the island of Santorini, opening on Friday afternoon with the Ancient Thera Run 5K, a 5.01 km asphalt and urban course beneath the archaeological site in Kamari. Saturday brings a 2.4 km open-water swim from the volcanic islet to the Old Port of Fira. The trail races on Sunday start and finish at the Desalination Plant in Oia and follow volcanic paths, dirt, asphalt and stone-paved sections along the Caldera, with the 15K route reaching Imerovigli and the entrance to Fira. The event is co-organised by the Municipality of Thira, its Department of Sports and Culture, and ActiveMedia Group.

The Friday Ancient Thera Run 5K is held in Kamari beneath the archaeological site. The Saturday 2.4K swim goes from the volcanic islet to the Old Port of Fira. The Sunday trail races start and finish at the Desalination Plant in Oia.

The swim covers 2.4 km of open sea between the volcanic islet and the Old Port of Fira, so it suits swimmers who are comfortable in open water over that distance. Full entry conditions and any qualifying requirements are set out by the organiser.
The programme spreads the road 5K across Friday, the open-water swim across Saturday and the trail races across Sunday, so the weekend is built around a different discipline each day. Check the official entry information for the rules on entering multiple races.
