The Santa Suits on the Loose 5K Walk/Jog/Run takes place on the second Saturday of December at St. Augustine Beach Pier on Florida's Atlantic coast. The 5 km route uses the flat, paved streets around the pier and the beachside neighbourhood, and it welcomes walkers, joggers and runners of every pace rather than only competitive racers. Early registrants receive a Santa suit or a T-shirt to wear on the day, and brands and teams can enter a Team Challenge for a travelling trophy. All proceeds go to St. Augustine Youth Services, which supports residential foster children and young people with mental health needs by providing normal life experiences and a joy-filled holiday season.
