The Nightrun opens the Salzburg Trailrunning Festival weekend with a 5.5 km trail race run after dark in the city of Salzburg. The distance is short and runnable, aimed at runners who want a taste of trail racing without committing to a long mountain day. It is the first of three days of racing, followed on the Saturday by the Kidstrail and the Festungs- und Panoramatrail over 13 km, and on the Sunday by the Gaisbergtrail and Gaisbergvertical over 24.6 km.
