The Salzburg Marathon is the centrepiece of a week-long running festival in the Mozart city, staged from 16 to 23 May 2027 and heading into its 24th edition. The marathon and half marathon go off on Sunday 23 May, starting on the Staatsbrücke in the old town and finishing at Max-Reinhardt-Platz, while the 5.5 km Salzburger Frauenlauf is held on 21 May. Alongside the classic 42.195 km there is a 10K City Run, a relay marathon, a junior marathon, an inclusion mile, a breakfast run and an old town enjoyment run, so the programme reaches from competitive runners to families and first-timers. A sports fair, partner hotels, charity projects and an after race party frame the weekend, and the organisers bill the event as the largest active sports event in the province of Salzburg.
