The Saltwell 10K Road Race is run entirely within Saltwell Park in Gateshead on the third Saturday of December. Runners cover three marshalled laps of a traffic-free circuit on the park roads and paths, an undulating route marked at every kilometre with around 157 m of climbing in total. The finish sits beside the lake in the park. The field is capped at 600 runners, and awards or mementos are given out to participants. Saltwell Harriers publish full results for past editions, with files available from 2018 through 2025 and for earlier races too.
