The Run2Day Trimloop AAC'61 is held in Assen, in the province of Drenthe, on Saturday 12 December 2026. Runners pick their own challenge from a set of distances between 6 and 15 kilometres, with 6 km, 9 km, 12 km and 15 km on offer, and everyone shares the same flat, paved course through and around the city. It is one of the long-standing Trimloop races put on by the local athletics club AAC'61, with Run2Day lending its name to the event. Entries run through the inschrijven.nl registration platform, where the organiser publishes the final start times and any last details as race day approaches.

Entries are handled online through the registration form at inschrijven.nl, which is linked from the event page as the official website. You fill in your details there and you will receive a confirmation by email. Always check the form for the latest information before you travel, as the organiser updates it as the race approaches.
The Trimloop is built for runners of very different levels. If it is your first race, or you are coming back from a break, the shorter options give you a relaxed introduction to the event. If you race regularly and want a harder session, the longest distance is the one to choose. You can also treat it as a tempo run in the middle of your winter training block.
It is a Trimloop, which is the Dutch name for a low-key series race organised by a local athletics club, in this case AAC'61 in Assen. Trimlopen are typically held over several dates through the season and are used by club runners and recreational runners alike as regular fitness tests and training races.
The organiser handles entries through the online form and will publish on that page whether late or on-the-day entries are possible. Where on-the-day entries are accepted, they usually cost a little more and often have to be paid in cash, so it is worth registering in advance if you can.
Dutch winter races generally go ahead in rain or cold, so plan for the conditions rather than expecting a postponement. If severe weather forces the organiser to change or cancel the event, they will communicate this through the registration page and their own channels, so check before you set off.
