Run The Point takes runners into Emerson Point Preserve on Florida's Gulf coast, with a swift 5K and a more demanding 5-mile road race on the same morning. The route carves through the preserve's coastal scenery, with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge visible in the distance and the calm waters of Tampa Bay on the horizon, and local wildlife often forms part of the backdrop. A Double Nickle Challenge entry combines both distances. The event is staged in October, with the 2025 edition on Saturday 25 October and a 2026 edition on Saturday 3 October.

On-the-day entries are not listed for this event, so it is best to secure your place online in advance. Contact the organiser if you need to check availability close to the date.
It is a combined entry that covers both the 5 Miler and the 5K on the same morning. In the 2026 schedule the 5 Miler starts at 7:45 AM and the 5K at 9:00 AM, giving runners a short gap between the two.
Southwest Florida in October is still warm and humid, with temperatures often in the high twenties Celsius and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Starting early, hydrating well in the days before and wearing light, breathable kit all help.
The races are road races that run through Emerson Point Preserve, so expect paved surfaces and park paths rather than technical trail. Regular road shoes are the sensible choice.
The 5K is the gentler introduction and the organisers describe it as a swift run rather than a demanding one. The 5 Miler asks a little more of you, so pick the distance that matches your current training.
