The Run In The New Year 5k/10K/Half Marathon takes place on a flat, fast and scenic course along the State Park path at Sunset Beach in Huntington Beach, California. Live music plays at the start line, the finish line and out along the route, with the ocean breeze running alongside the field the whole way. Every finisher collects a colossal custom cast medal, with a stylish long sleeve tee for half marathoners and a custom t-shirt for 5K and 10K entrants. The morning runs straight into a New Year's party, complete with beach balls, beanie sales, champagne glasses and a famous pancake breakfast of pineapple and coconut pancakes with fresh coffee. Races are professionally timed and age division awards are handed out across the distances, and the event welcomes everyone from seasoned marathoners to casual walkers, whether they arrive solo or with a squad.
