The Run for Chocolate brings a deliberately small field to G.R. Herberger Park in Phoenix, releasing runners in half-hour waves from 7:30am so the course never feels crowded. Entrants choose between the 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, plus a one mile family fun run and a virtual option, and the exact course map is emailed to everyone with the final participant information on the Wednesday before race day. There is no chip timing and no packet pickup queue: the shirt is posted to a US address and the bib is handed over on the morning of the run. Coordinators stay on site for three hours after the first wave, so late arrivals can still start and walkers are as welcome as runners.

You can still enter, but shipping may not catch up in time and your shirt could arrive after the race. You are welcome to wear whatever you like on the day and run with everyone else.
Final participant information, including all race day details and the course map, is emailed on the Wednesday before the race. Start times can shift slightly with the seasons, so check that email before you travel.
Yes. The virtual entry includes a digital training pack, and you can complete the distance whenever and wherever you like with any tracking device, or none at all. Email your result to [email protected] to claim your medal.
