The Regionsmeisterschaft im Crosslauf der NLV Kreise brings cross country racing to Dransfeld in Niedersachsen on Saturday 7 November 2026. The main long distance race covers 9 kilometres over open cross country ground, run alongside a shorter cross country middle distance. The programme also gives younger athletes their own races, with a cross sprint for the under 10 and under 12 age groups and a woodland run for the under 8s. Racing happens on grass, woodland paths and natural terrain typical of a November cross country meeting in northern Germany, so expect soft ground and changeable weather.

The event is held on Saturday 7 November 2026 in Dransfeld, in the Niedersachsen region of Germany, in the NLV district of Göttingen.
The programme lists a long distance cross country race over 9 kilometres, a middle distance cross country race, a cross sprint for the under 10 and under 12 age groups and a woodland run for the under 8s.
The event is advertised as an open district championship (Offene Kreismeisterschaft), which normally means runners from other clubs and districts can take part. Check the official announcement for any conditions that apply to championship scoring.
Cross country spikes are the usual choice for the timed races, with grippy trail shoes a good alternative if you prefer more cushioning. Studs or spikes help on wet grass and muddy corners.
Early November in southern Niedersachsen is typically cool, damp and changeable. Bring warm layers for before and after your race and plan for wet or muddy ground.
