The Raidlight Trail Festival spans three days in the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park, based in the village of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse. Six race formats run from Friday evening to Sunday morning, opening with a 4 km vertical kilometre and closing with the 27 km Sky Trail. Runners cover mountain trails through a protected Natura 2000 landscape of mountain pine, maple and spruce forest over lapiaz, with moorland, pasture and cliffs alongside, and between 800 m and 2 600 m of climbing depending on the format. A free children's race programme on Saturday afternoon and a 17 km hike open to all make the weekend reachable for families and walkers as well as racers. The festival caps overall entry at 1 800 runners, and participants can enter one race or several.
