The Prova do Triângulo takes place in the coastal parish of Castelo do Neiva, in the Viana do Castelo district of northern Portugal, on Sunday 4 October 2026. The programme is built around a 13 kilometre race and also carries youth races under the Portuguese age group names Juvenis, Iniciados, Infantis, Benjamins A and Benjamins B. Early October on the Minho coast is usually mild, with temperatures often between about 15 and 22 degrees Celsius. Rain is possible at that time of year, so a light waterproof layer and a change of clothes for afterwards are sensible.
This is a local road race rather than a mass city marathon, and local Portuguese races generally welcome runners of all standards. If you plan to run easily, start towards the back so faster runners are not held up.
