The Whingeathon is a timed, lapped event staged by Phoenix Running on the Itchen Way in Winchester. Runners complete repeated laps of a professionally measured 2.62 mile out and back route that crosses the Hockley Viaduct and returns to the Garnier Road car park event base. The format is deliberately flexible: entrants rock up and start when they are ready and decide on the day how many laps to run, with five laps making a half marathon, ten a marathon and eleven or more an ultra inside a seven hour running window. An aid station on course supplies sweet and savoury food, including a signature serving of potatoes and vegan options, and every finisher, whether attending in person or taking part virtually, receives a bespoke medal or memento.
