Spectators are more than welcome. The Weir Pub is located right next to the start and finish line, so it offers an extremely convenient cheering point. The Weir offers cold drinks, hot drinks and food from 11am, and there is also a café at the nearby Xcel Leisure Centre. The Weir has hotel rooms for those wishing to stay over, but please book early as it always sells out.
One lap makes you a finisher and a winner. Four laps covers a half marathon distance, eight laps covers a full marathon distance (recognised by the 100 Marathon Club), and nine or more laps is an ultra marathon distance.
Phoenix Running are now in their 11th year of organising events in the South East of England. They are all about being inclusive, with great routes, great medals and great people. They believe in encouraging and enabling runners to achieve things they perhaps once thought were impossible, whether that is a first 5km, 5 mile or 50km run.
No. The beauty of this format is that you do not need to decide in advance. Simply come and run a lap and see how you feel on the day, then keep going if it feels right. The minimum distance is 3.28 miles, or as far as you can go within the seven hour limit.
Phoenix Running use two courses from The Weir. The Blue Bridge route heads west along the Thames, over the small Blue Bridge and under Walton Bridge before returning, while the Hampton Court route heads east past Sunbury Lock before returning. The course is confirmed one week before the event depending on local events and the weather.
