Phoenix Fridays is a series of timed Friday events on the riverside towpath beside the River Thames at Walton-on-Thames. Runners complete an out-and-back lap of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) on off-road towpath, and because the course is completely flat it suits anyone chasing a steady rhythm or a fast split. Distances run from a single lap through 5 km, 10 km, half marathon and marathon up to ultra, and entrants decide on the day how far they will go within the overall seven hour limit. This edition is the Run for a Tenner charity event, with the affiliated entry fee directed to the Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity, and every finisher receives a medal or memento.
