The PSY 50K is a solo mountain trail race of about 51 kilometres through the hills around Lom Kao in Phetchabun province, northern Thailand. The route climbs and descends roughly 2,900 metres in total, so runners face sustained gradient in both directions across the day. Starts are at 03:30, which means the first hours are run in darkness by headlamp before the sun rises over the ridges. The ground underfoot is not described in detail on the listing, but the scale of the climbing points to long, steep mountain paths. Four aid stations divide the course into more manageable sections, and runners have 14 hours and 30 minutes to reach the finish.
