Volta a Paranhos, held for the 68th time in 2026, is billed as the oldest race in Portugal and is staged by Sport Comércio e Salgueiros together with Eventsport. The morning opens with a 500 m race for young athletes, followed by the classic 10K run and a 4K family walk, both starting at 10:45. The 10K is a single loop on tarmac through the Paranhos district of Porto, starting and finishing on Rua Alfredo Allen beside the Faculty of Psychology and winding past Largo da Igreja de Paranhos, Rua de Costa Cabral, Rua da Constituição and Praça 9 de Abril. The event is designed to highlight the role of sport in health and quality of life, and finishers receive a medal, an event t-shirt and an electronic certificate, with cash prizes also on offer.

The 10K is a single loop on closed city roads through the Paranhos district, passing the church square at Largo da Igreja de Paranhos, Rua de Costa Cabral, Rua da Constituição and Praça 9 de Abril before returning to Rua Alfredo Allen for the finish.
Entry includes a finisher medal, an event t-shirt, an electronic certificate or diploma, a single-use timing chip, drink stations on the course and medical assistance. Cash prizes are also awarded.
Medical assistance is provided as part of the event and is included in your entry. If you feel unwell on the course, stop and speak to the nearest marshal or medical team member.
