Other questions
It is the Welsh classical round, a loop of just over 100km that visits all the major mountain ranges in northern Snowdonia and takes in 47 mountain tops, with roughly 9,000m of ascent and descent. It is widely considered tougher than both the Bob Graham Round in the Lake District and the Ramsay Round in the Scottish Highlands.
The route is covered in small guided groups running up to 40km per day. Each day returns to Capel Curig, where participants stay overnight before the next section.
The organiser recommends having completed the Welsh 3000s over two days, or one of their 50km events, as a minimum. Pace is a slow run, with all the hills and technical sections walked.
Places are limited to a maximum of six, because the terrain and the level of supervision required call for a low ratio. Groups are guided at a maximum ratio of one leader to six participants.
The fee covers qualified guiding and supervision at a maximum ratio of 1:6, food and drink at the halfway refuelling point on each day, a support vehicle with a qualified leader on the hill, and transport out and back each day from the base in Capel Curig.
