Springwell RC and Club Derry host the second edition of the Owenbeg Cross Country at Derry GAA's Owenbeg Centre of Excellence, a grass cross country venue in County Londonderry. The day is built around six races that run from under-11 boys and girls through to the senior men's 7km, and it forms part of the restructured Athletics NI 2026/27 Cross Country League, so league points are on the line in the senior male and female events. Racing begins at 11:30 with the youngest age group and concludes with the senior men at 14:15, and every finisher is rewarded with hot food, either Irish stew or vegetable soup, plus a free O'Neills bobble hat. Prize money is paid across the senior, U20, masters and junior categories. Entries, which include the booking fee, open on Monday 19 October 2026 and close on Sunday 10 January 2027.
