Terrain
The event takes runners along the North Wales Path from Prestatyn, with the 100k continuing all the way to Bangor and the 50k finishing on the beach at West Shore in Llandudno. The ground alternates between flat coastal paths and hilly inland sections, and the route passes landmarks including the Great Orme, Conwy Castle, Aber Falls and Penrhyn Castle. Six aid and feed stations serve the full 100k distance, with three on the 50k, and the checkpoints close on an 18 minute per mile pace so that everyone finishes inside the time limit. Two start times are offered for each distance, with the faster runners setting off later so the field stays closer together through the middle and later stages. Bag drop is provided at the start, with bags carried to the 50k checkpoint and then on to the finish.

Other questions
All participants need to organise their own transport from the finish. The line from Chester to Holyhead follows the route of the event and there are numerous stations along it, which makes train travel between the start and finish practical to arrange.
Yes. You can leave a small bag at the start and it will be transported for you to the checkpoint at 50k and then on to the finish.
The route is trail terrain with a mix of flat coastal running and hilly inland sections. The 50k has around 2700ft (822m) of ascent and the 100k around 2400m.
The 50k is the shorter option and follows the same course as the 100k before finishing at Llandudno West Shore, with three aid stations and generous cut-off times relative to the distance. It is still a long day out with real climbing, so it suits runners who have built up a solid base of long-distance training.
The route hugs the coastline for most of its length, so spectator points are easy to reach. All parts of the route are within a 10-15 minute drive of the A55 expressway, and the aid stations at Kinmel Bay, Llysfaen, Llandudno North Shore, Llandudno West Shore, Aber Falls and Hendre Hall Junction make natural viewing spots.
