North Lakes Winter Fell Series - Stybarrow Dodd - 6 km

It is a winter fell race held on 28 November 2026 from Thirlmere Recreation Hall at Stanah Lane, Legburthwaite. It covers about 6.4 km with roughly 700 m of ascent and serves as Race 1 of four in the inaugural North Lakes Winter Fell Series.

It is short but seriously steep: around 6.4 km with about 700 m of climbing on open fell. The route is flagged and marshalled to the fell gate, after which it becomes a navigational fell outing with checkpoints at the Sticks Pass crossroads and the Stybarrow Dodd summit.

There is a checkpoint at CP1, the Sticks Pass crossroads (grid reference GR342181), and another at CP2 on the Stybarrow Dodd summit (grid reference GR341186).
