Other questions
NAV4 provides the official Lakes in a Day recce programme and the Mountain Safety Team for the event. Each recce day takes a section of the course so participants can practise the route, sharpen their navigation and pick up advice specific to the event before the October race.
Every recce is guided by two or more experienced recce leaders, with a maximum guide to participant ratio of 1:8.
Groups split by natural pace, so faster and steadier runners each move at a comfortable speed with their guide.
Free minibus transport is provided from the finish to the start on the Ambleside to Cartmel and Caldbeck to Threlkeld recce days.
Leaders give practical advice on clothing, footwear, kit carriage, food and drink, navigation, route choice and wider event strategy for Lakes in a Day.
