Overview

Nagasaki Music Fest Marathon is the first full marathon in Nagasaki Prefecture to be certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and the only race in Japan produced by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation. It brings running and live music together, and its signature stretch is a straight of roughly seven kilometres along the Isahaya Bay land reclamation dike road. The day is built around the idea of a race made by everyone, with a full programme of hospitality for runners. Both the marathon and the 5.1 km fun run start and finish at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki.

The practical side

Qualification

This entry form is for Nagasaki Prefecture residents only. Runners must live in the prefecture; studying or working there does not qualify. Entries cannot be made for family members or friends and must be registered in the runner's own name. Marathon entrants must have been born on or before 1 April 2008 and be able to finish within 6 hours 30 minutes; fun run entrants must be high school age or older and able to finish within 50 minutes.

Flat paved road running out across the reclaimed land of Isahaya Bay.

Route

Starts and finishes at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki. The defining feature of the course is a straight section of roughly seven kilometres along the Isahaya Bay land reclamation dike road.

Getting There

A temporary shuttle bus runs between Isahaya Station west exit and the start/finish venue.

Expo

An EXPO is held on the day before the race and on race day, alongside the music festival and a live radio broadcast.

Race Day

Opening ceremony at 8:45, marathon start at 9:00 and fun run start at 9:20, all at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki. Bibs and timing chips must be collected the previous day; there is no race day registration.

Chip timingThere is no registration on race day. Collection takes place the day before, on Saturday 30 January 2027 from 9:00 to 20:00, at Isahaya City Central Gymnasium (Uchimura Memorial Arena), 1048-2 Kobuneoshi-machi, Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture. Athlete bibs and timing chips are handed out there.

Before you enter

RefundsEntry fees are not refunded if a runner who does not meet the Nagasaki Prefecture residents' eligibility requirement enters and the entry is cancelled.

Time limitMarathon runners have 6 hours 30 minutes to finish, and there are 10 checkpoints on the course. Fun run participants have 50 minutes.
