For the Ultra, runners need prior participation in at least 2 full or ultra marathons in the past 2 years. For the Full Marathon, runners need prior participation in at least 2 half marathons in the past 2 years. Supporting documents must be produced when collecting bib numbers.
Barefoot runners should note that parts of the full marathon follow unpaved, tractor-able plantation roads. The organisers ask barefoot participants to be prepared for this surface.
Refreshment points are arranged every 4 km on the full marathon route to keep runners hydrated. Course marshals and backup vehicles are also positioned along the route to assist anyone who needs help.
Yes. Every distance has a dedicated veterans entry for runners aged 60 and above, offered at a reduced fee and starting alongside the main field.
Munnar sits at high altitude and has a cool mountain climate, so early starts are chilly and mist is common on the hills. Mornings are cool and the climbing warms you quickly, so layering is a sensible choice.
