The single entry price of 3270 EUR covers the full fourteen-day challenge. Included in the entry are a finisher medal, event t-shirts, photo service, drink stations and nutrition stations. Finishers also receive a bespoke trophy, a medal for each of the fifteen days completed ending with the MizMal medal, personalised race shirts, a hi-viz jacket and a complimentary pair of R1 running shoes courtesy of Mount to Coast.
The route begins at Mizen Head in County Cork in the south and ends at Malin Head in County Donegal in the north, so start and finish are at opposite ends of the country. Participants arrange their own travel, typically flying or sailing into the south for the start and returning from the north after the finish, and should confirm current transfer and accommodation guidance with the organisers before booking.
The route is mixed underfoot and hilly throughout. Days pass through quiet countryside, forest and long stretches of exposed Atlantic coastline, with between 27 and 58 miles covered on each of the fourteen days.
Drink stations and nutrition stations are positioned along the daily route, and entrants carry their own mandatory safety kit. Maps for each day are issued before the stage starts so runners can navigate the course.
The event is deliberately small, with a field of under 100 participants, which keeps the atmosphere intimate across the two weeks on the road.
