It is Round 3 of the Mofang Outdoor Season 3, the 2026 edition of the season put on by Mofang Outdoor in Shenzhen. In ITRA listings the round appears under the season name, Mofang Outdoor Season 3 2026.
The loop mixes country trails, rocky mountain tracks, stone steps and short paved links, so trail shoes with a decent grip are the usual choice. There is nothing specialist needed for an 18 km outing.
There is a single aid station at CP1, around 8 km in, so carry enough water and food for the stretches either side of it. A charged phone and a light shell are worth having for the exposed ridge sections.
The route climbs roughly 1,091 m over 18 km, and much of it comes in long sustained pushes rather than short steps. Build hiking strength for the steep sections and practise descending on technical ground, because the downhills cost as much as the climbs.
No weather policy is published for this race. October in Shenzhen is usually warm and can be humid, and conditions on Yangtai Mountain can shift through the morning, so check the forecast and be ready for wet, slick trails.
