The Minami Alps Mountain Marathon sends runners across Tenguishi-yama and the Sessokyo gorge in Kawanehon, Shizuoka Prefecture, on a mountain trail of roughly 22 km with about 1,200 m of climbing. There are no aid stations at all, so every runner carries their own food and water and makes their own decisions on the mountain. Entrants take on the course solo or in teams of two to five, all under a six-hour limit, with the field capped at 400. The event is built on the idea that running the trails helps create and nurture the maps of the Minami Alps.

Entries are taken on the RUNNET event page. The entry window runs from 18:00 on 7 August 2026 to 23:59 on 27 September 2026, and registration closes early if the field fills during that period.
Yes. Teams are made up of 2 to 5 people aged 10 or over. If anyone in the team is of high school age or younger, an accompanying guardian aged 18 or over must take part as well. One representative can enter several teams, but take care not to submit duplicate entries.
Yes, entries can be transferred through RUNNET's Yuzureru service. The transfer window runs from 00:00 on 9 August 2026 to 23:59 on 29 September 2026.
Reception is at Nagashima Park, 109-8 Ima, Kawanehon, Haibara District, Shizuoka 428-0402. The start and finish are at the same park.
