METU RUN Trail starts and finishes on the METU campus in Ankara and sends runners out through the METU Forest and around Eymir Lake, a landscape on Turkey's UNESCO World Heritage tentative list. Four distances share the same start line at Devrim Stadium: a 4.8 km Republic Run in the late afternoon, a 14.9 km route, a 28.7 km route and the 68.1 km Eymir ultra with almost 2,000 m of climbing. The ground underfoot is forest trail, with steep climbs, technical descents and constantly changing surfaces, and the day closes with a prize ceremony back at the stadium.
