Mégal’O Night

It is a village in the Indre-et-Loire department of the Centre-Val de Loire region in central France, close to Tours. The organiser's website gives the precise meeting point.

Both names come from classic French fairytales, Hop-o'-My-Thumb and Cinderella. They are simply the labels the organiser uses for the short and the long course.

Mid-December evenings in the Loire Valley are cold and often damp, with mud on rural paths. Warm layers, gloves, a waterproof shell and grippy shoes are sensible, and you should check the organiser's updates if the weather turns severe.

Registration must be done online. Each team member must provide either a valid FFCO licence, a completed and signed medical attestation after answering the health questionnaire and reading the cardiologists' 10 golden rules, or a medical certificate less than one year old that explicitly states no contraindication to competitive orienteering. Minors must also provide parental authorisation.
