The Azkoitia Azpeitia International Half Marathon runs through two neighbouring towns in the Basque province of Gipuzkoa, with elite athletes and everyday runners sharing the same course. The route is lined with local neighbourhoods, volunteers and spectators who give the day its street-party feel. The previous edition produced winning times of 1:03:17 in the men's race and 1:07:31 in the women's race, along with a new women's event record. A shorter race runs alongside the half marathon for those who want a less demanding day out.
