The Marathon International de Charleroi takes runners through Belgium's largest Walloon city on a completely flat, entirely asphalt course that links urban streets with parks and woodland. Four distances share the day, with the marathon and half marathon setting off at 09:30 and the 10 km and 5 km offering shorter options for newer runners. The route is a single certified loop that begins and ends at Le Grand Palais on Rue de l'Ancre, and it is designed to show off Charleroi's history, from its industrial heritage to its greener edges. Entrants get chip timing, pacers, drink and nutrition stations, medical assistance, a post-race meal and a massage, and every finisher receives a medal and a finisher's T-shirt.
