The Marathon Festival series comes to Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa in mid-January, with JAAF-certified races over 30km, half marathon and 10km alongside a 5km and two 1km parent and child events. Every distance runs on the same 5km loop inside the park, so the 30km works out at six laps and the half marathon runs four laps plus a short closing section. The start and finish share the ginkgo tree-lined avenue beside the Undo Hiroba sports plaza, where race number collection opens on the morning. Both JAAF-registered athletes and general runners are welcome, and runners in the registered division receive certified times. Aid service appears every 2.5km, split times are recorded every 5km, and pacemakers are planned for the longer races.

Other questions
Both races are open to men and women aged 18 and over, and high school students cannot take part. Entries are accepted from both JAAF-registered athletes and general runners.
Runners in the JAAF-registered division receive a certified record, while the general division is for runners who are not registered with a regional athletics association. If you enter the registered division, your 2026 JAAF registration details must be saved in your My Page profile, and a JAAF ID is now required before the entry button appears. Anyone still marked as pending must update their details by 23 December 2026 or they will be moved to the general division.
Entry runs from 6 June 2026 until 23 December 2026. Places are first come, first served, so the organiser closes registration early if a distance fills up.
The fee covers your race entry and the Showa Kinen Park admission charge of 450 yen. Fees are 5,800 yen for the 30km, 5,400 yen for the half marathon, 4,800 yen for the 10km, 4,200 yen for the 5km and 3,800 yen per pair for the parent and child 1km.
Pacemakers are planned for the 30km, the half marathon or both. The confirmed details will be announced on the official event website.
