Six laps of the JAAF-certified 5 km loop in the park. Men and women aged 18 and over are eligible, but high school students cannot enter, and both JAAF-registered and general runners are accepted. Runners who have not passed the 25 km point (the fifth lap) by 13:50, three hours after the start, are not allowed onto the sixth lap.

Race Day

Reception opens at 09:30 at Undo Hiroba inside Showa Kinen National Park, with the address given as 3173 Midoricho, Tachikawa. The opening ceremony is at 10:10, the two parent and child 1 km races start at 10:25 and 10:26, the 30 km at 10:50, the half marathon at 11:00, the 10 km at 11:50 and the 5 km at 11:55. Every distance starts and finishes on the ginkgo avenue beside Undo Hiroba.

Race photosIn the reception kit given at check-in, there is a leaflet for photo sales. The URL, ID, and password are written on it; please purchase within the sales period.

Food after the finishAid services are set up after the finish line as well as every 2.5 km along the course.

PrizesThere are no awards for the parent-child pair marathon. Participating parent-child pairs will receive a completion certificate after finishing, and children will receive a gold medal after finishing. Timing is measured using the same timing tag as other marathon events.

ResultsAs this is a JAAF certified event, the 30km, half marathon, and 10km records are certified records (for JAAF-registered runners). Certified record certificates can be received at the venue on the day; fill out the application form at headquarters and pay 500 yen (issuance and shipping fee).

ParkingParticipants will receive a park admission ticket enclosed with the participation guide sent in advance. Please bring the entire envelope on the day (the envelope is required at reception). If you forget or lose the park admission ticket, please purchase one at the park window. Park admission fee: adults (15 and over) 450 yen, seniors (65 and over) 210 yen, junior high school students and under free.

Public transportThe event is held in Showa Kinen National Park, which the organiser describes as having excellent access. Detailed travel information and the race day flow are included in the participant guide sent before the race.

Changing facilitiesChanging rooms are located in the 'Minna no Harappa Central Management Building' (park facility), about 500m from the event venue 'Undo Hiroba'. Please allow enough time. For convenience, simple changing tents (separate for men and women) will be set up at Undo Hiroba. Usage may be limited. Please bring your own changing tent, poncho, or bath towel, or come dressed ready to run.

Bag dropParticipants place their own baggage directly in the baggage area. Staff will guide and monitor the area to prevent theft. Confirming where you placed your baggage is your own responsibility. If you are worried about loss, please use the park's coin lockers. When using the baggage area, write the same number as your athlete bib on the plastic bag or tag provided by the organizer and make it visible to staff at the entrance/exit. You cannot use it without your athlete bib.

Minimum ageYes. There are two 1 km parent and child pair races, one for children at elementary school and one for preschool children, and every child who finishes receives a gold medal. The 5 km is open to junior high school students and above, the 10 km to high school students and above, and the 30 km and half marathon to those aged 18 and over who are not high school students.

Time limitThe 30 km and half marathon have checkpoints. In the 30 km you must pass the 25 km point on the fifth lap by 13:50, three hours after the start, or you cannot begin the sixth lap. In the half marathon you must pass the 15 km point on the third lap by 13:15, two hours fifteen minutes after the start, or you cannot begin the final lap.

Collecting your numberAn envelope containing the participant guide and park admission ticket is mailed to your address about a week before the event. On race day, show the reception number printed on the envelope at reception and collect your number card and other items.
