Malagar au cœur de la course is a charity trail morning organised by the Centre François Mauriac at the Domaine de Malagar in Saint-Maixant, in the Gironde. Runners and walkers choose between routes of 7 km and 14 km that cross vineyards and woodland on the hillsides of Saint-Maixant, Sainte-Croix-du-Mont and Verdelais, and children have their own 1.4 km race. The event is part of the Octobre Rose campaign against breast cancer. There is no chip timing and the only winners recorded are in the children's race. The mayors of the communes crossed by the routes start the participants, DJ Ben from the association Les Pieds d'Poule provides the music and Didier Desages commentates the morning. Entry fees are donated in full to the oncology department of the Centre Hospitalier Sud Gironde through the Ligue contre le cancer Gironde, which last year funded an open patio for patients receiving outpatient treatment.

The routes use vineyard and woodland paths on the hillsides above Saint-Maixant, so trail shoes are a sensible choice. The organisers publish no mandatory kit list.
