Madeira Backyard Ultra Extreme takes over Machico on 10 October 2026 with a single 6.706 km loop that climbs 355 metres through Pico do Facho. Runners set off on a new loop every hour and must be back before the next start, carrying everything they need because there are no aid stations and no organiser support on the course. The racing continues until just one athlete manages to complete a lap alone. Entries range from 5 to 27 laps, and the headline 27 Laps distance covers 182.6 km with 8,562 m of ascent inside a 26 hour limit.
