All three distances start and finish beside Glendale Heroes Regional Park and follow the paved Grand Canal Linear Trail, with the half marathon covering two laps of the circuit. The organisers bill the route as flat and fast rather than hilly, so it suits anyone chasing a personal best as much as a first race. The half marathon goes off at 7:00 AM, followed by the 10K at 7:30 AM and the 5K at 8:00 AM, with self-serve water stations about every 1.5 miles. The morning runs on a St Patrick's Day theme, and every finisher picks up a custom medal, with awards down through five-year age groups from 10 and under to 80+.
