Route

The Leuven Marathon combines the bustling city center with long, flat stretches and extensive green zones. Start on the ring at Sportoase, go through Parkstraat and Naamsestraat towards Grote Markt, past the City Hall and Sint-Pieterskerk. After crossing the city center, climb Keizersberg once, then descend towards Wilsele and the Vaart. Follow the Vaart towards the center, then via Vaartstraat to Bondgenotenlaan towards the station. Pass Ladeuzeplein and the University Library, then back to the ring. After a short passage along the finish zone, cross the ring at Parkpoort towards Naamsepoort, then explore the green south of Leuven: Heverleebos, part of Nationaal Park Brabantse Wouden. Between km 14 and 21 enjoy broad lanes and quality forest roads. In the second half, return via Naamsepoort and outer ring. Around km 25 pass the start zone again and go back into Parkstraat. After a second passage on Grote Markt, turn right before Keizersberg towards the Vaart. Long, flat kilometers with few bends follow, perfect for pushing past the 30 km point. Around km 38 return to the center and follow the same final kilometers as in the first part. Finish at Sportoase, where European champions finished in 2025.
