There are three course nature options: 7.7 km, 14 km and a 21.1 km half marathon. The shortest is the natural choice for a first off-road race, the 14 km suits runners wanting a step up, and the half marathon is for those comfortable being out for well over an hour on uneven ground in winter.

Trail shoes with decent grip are the sensible choice. The routes are off-road and the race is held in early February, when paths in the Yvelines are often muddy and slick. Road shoes will work in dry conditions but will struggle on wet ground.

Expect cold, damp and possibly windy conditions typical of the Paris region in February. Ground underfoot is likely to be soft or muddy on the nature sections, so dress in layers you can adjust and consider a waterproof if rain is forecast.
