The LECOM Costume Caper 5K Family Fun Run/Walk takes place on the morning of the Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins Festival and helps raise funds for medical students working on the front lines. The 5 km run and walk sets off at 8:00 AM from 2545 Railroad St in downtown Pittsburgh, and welcomes serious runners, casual walkers, families and anyone simply along for the sights. Halloween costumes are encouraged, with prizes for the most creative outfits, and every participant receives a 'Jumbo Jack' pumpkin medal, race bling and swag regardless of whether they dress up. Entrants who register by September 25 are guaranteed their chosen shirt size. A second entry is reserved for current LECOM students, employees and alumni.
