The courses thread through the woods and steep valleys around Lipperscheid, in the commune of Bourscheid, and keep tarmac to a minimum, so nearly all of the running is on natural trail. Four distances are on the programme, from 5.9 km up to 42 km, and the organisers note that the distances have not yet been officially validated. Every runner is professionally chip timed. The day is built around a relaxed atmosphere, with a bar, light catering and live music at the venue, bag storage before the start, and showers and changing rooms afterwards. The organisers, ASBL Waletrail, donate their profits to charity and have been asked to host Luxembourg's national long-distance trail championships.
