A night ride of 280 km entirely on tarmac, with no gravel. One life base between km 180 and km 200 acts as a strict time barrier based on a minimum average of 19 km/h, so a life base at km 190 must be reached within 10 hours of your start. Riders set off in groups of three and the event is a personal adventure rather than a competition.
Night start and finish at the village hall in Armentières-en-Brie

Other questions
No. S'échapper belle is unsupported in that sense, so you need to equip yourself in bikepacking style and carry everything on the bike.
No. Entry is online only and payment must be made online. There is no on-the-day registration and the field is limited to 99 people per distance.
There is no course marking and no map is issued. A GPX track is sent to entrants four days before the start, on Tuesday 8 December, and S'échapper belle riders receive their track and route details at the latest five days before their start.
Depending on the distance you can hand in 2 to 3 drop bags at bib collection and pick them up again at the life bases. The 30 km has no life base at all, and S'échapper belle has no drop bag service, so bikepacking kit is required there.
No. Friends and family may not run or ride alongside you, there are no pacers, earphones are forbidden and riding or running side by side is not allowed on road sections.
