The La Fuvelaine takes place in Fuveau, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of Provence, on Sunday 3 January 2027. Runners can choose from distances between 8 and 29 kilometres, with a 29 km trail, a 15 km road run and an 8 km road run for adults, plus a set of children's races of 350 metres, 1 km and 2 km. The event opens the running year in the hills around Fuveau, where the ground underfoot changes from road surfaces to trail tracks depending on the distance chosen. Families can enjoy the children's races alongside the adult events on the same day.

Other questions
Yes. The 29 km event is listed as a trail race, so it uses off-road tracks and paths rather than tarmac. The 15 km and 8 km races are listed as road runs.
For the 29 km trail, trail running shoes with good grip are the most sensible choice because of the off-road ground. The road distances can be run in standard running shoes. Check the organiser's information for any mandatory kit before race day.
January in Provence can be cool, especially in the early morning, and conditions on hillside trails can be colder and windier than in town. Bring layers and a lightweight waterproof, and check the forecast in the days before the event.
