The L100 Recce 2 is an organised training run over the 16 mile night section of the Lakeland 100 and Lakeland 50 courses, setting off from Ambleside and finishing at Coniston. Runners cover rough Lake District fell trail in the evening, meeting the same ground and the same darkness that most competitors will face on race weekend. The organisers lay on coach transport, medical support and basic refreshments at the checkpoints, and full mandatory kit must be carried throughout. The day is open only to runners who already hold a confirmed place in the 2027 Lakeland 100 or Lakeland 50, and full details are published on the Lakeland 100 website one week before the date.
