Registration for the Kumamoto Castle Marathon 2027 is currently closed. Because the event includes a Kumamoto Support Charity Runner Special Slot, there may be separate charity-entry or fundraising opportunities, but these are not guaranteed and are managed by the organizer. Check the official race website for any waitlist, charity slot reopening, or official cancellation/transfer announcements. Do not travel or book non-refundable plans unless you have a confirmed entry.
The start is at Torimachi-suji, with runners sent off in view of Kumamoto Castle. Race-morning check-in or packet pickup may not be available, so plan to collect your bib at the official pre-race expo or reception if required. Arrive early to clear security, use toilets, and find your corral. Expect large crowds, road closures, and a lively atmosphere. Follow volunteer instructions and keep your bib visible.
The nearest major airport is Kumamoto Airport (KMJ), with bus and taxi connections to Kumamoto Station and the city center. You can also travel via Fukuoka/Hakata and take the Shinkansen or limited express to Kumamoto Station. Kumamoto Station is the main rail hub, and local trams and buses connect to the start at Torimachi-suji and the finish at Kumamoto Castle Park. Book accommodation early, especially near the start/finish or along the tram lines, because race weekend is busy.
