The Kolonics György Memorial Run is held on 23 October 2026 at the KSI Kayak-Canoe Club on the Népsziget peninsula in Budapest, in memory of the two-time Olympic and fifteen-time world champion canoeist György Kolonics. Runners choose between an individual or relay half marathon at 10:00, an 11.5 km middle distance at 10:30 and a 3.5 km short distance at 12:15, all chip timed and starting and finishing at the club's waterfront base. The same day the Ötpróba programme adds dragon boat paddling on the Újpesti bay and the Nagy-Duna plus an 11 km tour down the Danube to Lágymányosi bay, with places limited. Entry includes a unique finisher medal, refreshments, route and technical support and medical cover, and a memorial polo shirt can be bought separately, with 2,000 HUF from each shirt going to the Kolonics György Foundation.

No. There is no entry on the day of the Memorial Run and none at the venue, and no entries are accepted after the entry period closes.
By bank card online at www.bbu.hu, by bank transfer to the UniCredit Bank account 10918001-00000074-77290008 held by Nagy Sportágválasztó, BBU Nonprofit Kft. with the #order number in the comment field, or in cash in person at the Merkapt Sport Centre.
The right to take part, a unique finisher medal made for the event, chip timing, refreshments, route and technical support, and medical supervision.
The memorial polo shirt is not part of the entry package. It can be bought separately for 5,500 HUF per piece in sizes S to XXL between 16 September and 15 October, paid in advance by bank card, bank transfer or in cash at the BBU office. 2,000 HUF from every shirt supports the Kolonics György Foundation.
