Other questions
The race starts at 06:30 on Saturday 12 June 2027 at Waterfront City Pangururan, on the shore of Lake Toba in North Sumatra.
Yes. The King's Ascent 25K is a UTMB World Series 20K event, and finishers receive 1 Running Stone.
Lake Toba sits in the highlands of North Sumatra and June falls in a drier stretch of the year, but humid, warm days and sudden afternoon rain are normal. Plan for wet trails underfoot and carry rain protection in line with the mandatory gear list.
The distance is approachable, but 1,293 metres of climbing over rugged ground makes it a demanding day out. Runners new to mountain trails should build hill training and time on technical terrain into their preparation and be ready for a long, slow climb.
