Runners set off from in front of Anabuki Arena Kagawa on Takamatsu's Sunport waterfront and finish inside the arena after a JAAF-certified 42.195km tour of Kagawa Prefecture. The course takes in views of the Seto Inland Sea and its islands, passes the specially designated scenic spot Ritsurin Garden, and rolls through satoyama countryside and the easy landscapes of the Sanuki Plain, showing off the nature and character of the prefecture. Two short Takamatsu Fun Run distances of about 3km and about 1km are staged on the same morning, and a race expo runs over the weekend of 20 and 21 March. The 2027 event is the second edition of the Kagawa Marathon.
