Runners take to the streets of East Grand Rapids for a fast, USA Track & Field certified 5K that anchors the annual Irish Jig. Now in its 40th year, the event draws a large field of runners and walkers who share a lively, community-spirited race morning. The ground underfoot is paved road throughout, making for a straightforward and welcoming course. Alongside the main 5K there is a Cancer Survivor 5K and a My Team Triumph division that pairs athletes with disabilities with able-bodied captains. Money raised goes to the Corewell Health Patient Assistance Fund, supporting patients and families facing cancer, so the day carries a purpose well beyond the finish line.
