Porticcio hosts the second edition of the Corsica Infinity Trail, a backyard ultra on the south shore of the Golfe d'Ajaccio. Runners set off together at midday on a loop of about 6.7 km with roughly 60 m of climbing, and the hour repeats itself until only one runner is still answering the call. The circuit was built for the event and takes in the stela marking Napoleon's departure for the continent, the Genoese tower of Capitello, the lively centre of the resort and the beach of La Viva, mixing several kinds of ground between the sea and the maquis. An outdoor rest zone sits beside the start and finish, and the organisation lays on a simple spread every hour with a full hot meal every three laps, drawing as far as possible on local produce and short supply chains.

Other questions
A Backyard Ultra is a last-person-standing race. All runners start together and then have one hour to complete a loop of about 6.7 km. Anyone who is back in time and on the start line when the next hour begins carries on, and the race continues lap after lap until only one runner is left.
Nothing says you must run. You have an hour to cover the loop, and plenty of runners walk the whole thing, especially through the night. What matters is being on the start line when the next lap begins.
Your race ends there. In the Backyard format a missed start means a DNF, and the event provides a Non-Finisher gift and a Non-Finisher medal based on the palier reached.
Yes. An outdoor rest zone is set up close to the start and finish area, and every runner can arrange their own space there to rest, change and sort equipment between laps.
The organisation opens a full solid aid station every three hours, which works out as every three laps, with rice, pasta, fruit and other food suited to long efforts. Broth, coffee and tea are added through the night. In between, fruit, cereal bars and small snacks are out every hour. Food is sourced as far as possible from local producers and short supply chains.
