Overview

Runners set off at 11:00 on Sunday morning from the woods above Rochestown for a short, fully marked trail circuit that mixes technical sections, climbing and singletrack underfoot. The course measures roughly 6.5 km with about 200 m of climb, which the IMRA grading puts at level 3 for easy terrain. Entry is through the IMRA event page and the race counts towards both the Coillte Summer/Autumn Trail League and the Munster League. Parking around the woods is very limited, so carpooling is strongly advised and runners are asked to be considerate of local residents.

ParkingParking at Garryduff Woods is very limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. Suggested places to park are the Rochestown Inn car park across the road, Upper Belmont Avenue and Upper Kensington. Please do not park at Garryduff Sports Centre and do not park in or block the lane leading to the woods, because emergency access must be kept clear. Be considerate of local residents.

Public transportFrom the South Ring Road at Bloomfield Interchange, follow the signs for Passage West. Take the slip road by St Patrick's Church to the small roundabout, take the Passage West exit, and after about 200 metres turn right up Clarke's Hill. At the T-junction the woods entrance is straight ahead.

Aid stationsThe event listing does not mention water or aid stations, so for a short 6.5 km woodland race you should plan to carry your own water and any gels or snacks you need.

Course markingThe route is fully marked, so navigation should be straightforward. GPS devices are permitted, but they are not required to find your way around the course.
